Can someone please tell me how to remove the drive shaft on my 99 500sx? I am having a hell of a time. I have the suspension out ,I loosened the lock collars on the cogs, I removed the circlip on the chaincase beirring. I can't get the shaft to slide either way for it to drop. What am I missing here??

That lock collar on the coggs can be left alone. First you must take off the speedo cover then loosen the hex bolts on the speed bearing from inside of tunnel. Then I use a flat blade of some sort an carefully pry the bearing out through the speedo hole. It will come but if rusted will take some WD and time. Once speed bearing out you have to remove the chain case or at least slid it out of the way as close to belly pan as you can. Then the driveshaft slides all the way to the speedo side to allow the drive shaft to come out of chain case hole. Then just tip down and pull the shaft the rest of the way out of the chain side.
