I'm looking at putting some plastic aftermarket skis on this thing and was leaning toward the Gen 3's (8 in wide). It will see time in the mountains and the deep stuff so I thought they would be better for floatation and keeping the front end up on the snow rather than the 6 in. wide Gen 1 skis. The Gen 2's are 10 in. wide and obviously would be even better. My question is, what would you all recommend? Will the Gen 3's or 2's work good on this old of a sled or would I be better off with the Gen. 1's? I dunno yet if the 3's and 2's are shorter in length than the 1's and if that could cause problems. Is there a different aftermarket ski that will work on these that I should look into?

I also have a ( 1993 ) Exciter ST
I had choose the widest ski to get the noose up on the snow instead of plowing through the snow.
Simmons Gen-II skis had been my choice.

Post some pictures of your sled !
