I know of 2 for sale. Any thoughts? I still would like to have a 08 or 09 F1000. But these look ok. Never had a 4 stroke so not sure about that part. Both are asking around $3500. I haven't seen them in person but one is gray and 1 is red I like the red. I just dont see much of an upgrade from my srx. As you can probably tell I really don't have a brand preference. No switchbacks or phasers and some of the newer(last 8 years or so)Ski doos are just plain ugly. Apexes seem nice but expensive. Just thinking of what to get if I were to upgrade. I think Ive blown the upgrade to a newer one just on the ones I have.

I have an 03 RX1 no reverse. Its a fantastic machine. I prefer my 02 SRX but next in line is the RX1. I have a Haulk #5 clutch kit and the upgrade sway bar links and shock springs to eliminate inside ski lift. I bought it new in 03 and have 10k miles on it. It does use a little oil but not bad. I only trail ride so I have never had it stuck in the snow so I dont even realize its heavy. Its a great machine. I would buy another one if I was in the market

03 where know to be oil burners but way less oil than a 2 stroke. If your srx is long traveled, rear suspension will not be too much of an up-grade. With an upgraded swaybar and end links ( if not already done) it will trail ride very well once set up to your liking. Clutching helps these sleds enormously. I recommend ulmers kit if you are not up to making your own. I had an 05 rx war that is did all these upgrades to and it handled great. These sleds pull hard and the engines last a very long time. Thread going on the 4 stroke side asking for milages on rx1. Some really high milages have been posted.

Sounds ok so far. I want to listen to a few on you tube. I would rather have a crotch rocket sound than a honda with a fart can muffler sound. I hear apexes are a pain to change oil, are these? I'd expect alot of milage from a 4 stroke on the motor side but the rest will still fall apart sooner or later. The suspension on mine is not stock and I dont know what it is. Someone drilled a hole for the rear bolts an inch back but the rest are the same. I think I have a pic and the front part thats prone to break says 03 RX-1 on it so maybe I have an rx-1 suspension in it. Oh yeah, being that old I would assume the hood opens and not all the little panels? I think they both have reverse also.

If you can find a RX warrior it would be a plus over the RX1.The 136 inch track makes this sled pretty good off trail(and the ample torque=control of track speed),and over humps.Have over 7000miles on my own since new(nov2004)and this will be its 11th season(cold weather on the way, fingers crossed) .Just had a new track installed along with sliders, new bearings in drivetrain, rear exhaust clamps, etc(new track was a bargain from last season($418CDN),Labour/Parts wasn,t ($747CDN).There much easier to work on than the apex chassis.Watch the front arm in the rear suspension for cracks, exhaust leaks around donuts, and bushings in front suspension.Same battery in this sled since leaving the factory in 2003 but its getting a new one this week(more money to the dealer, got to soak the cash from me for all those years not having to return for service since the first oil change in 2005)

Oil Change is only a pain when you have to do the filter, which is reccomnded every 2nd oil change. Right side lower panel needs to come off to do this but is not too bad.reverse was still optional on them but most did have it. I loved mine and with the apex seat mod my brother did to it, I would still be riding it if I had not upgraded to an apex xtx with eps. 15000 km on my old rx and it needed the tunnel rivit's to the bulkhead replaced this year during preseason maintence.

How about the price though? $3500. I will see if I can post a pic of the red one.

At this time of year that is a fair price if they are in good shape.

Its a 03 RX-1 ER (electric start, reverse?)Not sure what the ER means. Its from a dealer and they do have a warrior for a little more. This one is actually 3799 but I could get it for 3500. Just not sure, I have 3 already all kept at my moms house (she loves that).
I took some pics from website. Whats with the 145hp+? + what? It looks like a yamaha ad they pasted to description after a few sentences of there own.

I just sold my RX a few weeks ago, and definatley will miss the power that thing had!!! Once the carbs are cleaned, synched, and properly set the RX 1 is a rocket! Drop the top gear 2 teeth, and its a whole new weapon. Play with the suspension, and get it set to your liking, and you will love the powerfull pull these things have! I have ridden MANY F1s, and there is absolutely NO, 0 , nada, and fuggall comparisons!!! The ONLY reason I sold mine was, is that I am not much of a trail rider, and like to play in ditches, drifts, and make my own trails. I like my SX-R 700 for that, so I sold the 1000, and got a second SX-R. The RX1 is easy to change the oil once you do it once. As for the oil burning issue, if your sled is doing it, it's nothing but the oil rings sticking. Apparently adding seafoam to the oil, and running the sled before an oil change will clean it out. DO NOT run premium fuel in the RX1!!! It's not needed, and contributes to the oil control rings sticking

er means electric start and reverse. depends on the dyno for the hp #'s. most rx's floated between 140-145hp at the crank. other than the handlebar hooks, it looks pretty stock to me.

They can't pull much harder then a srx700, do they? Suspension looks like an srx. Really are they faster and nicer ride(adjustable on the fly on a sno-pro) then f1000? I know they are tanks and need a few mods to be fast but 161hp vs 145+hp. I guess a y pipe and flash the ECU to get full potential and something about clutches get way hot. Still, whats with the 145+hp. Everywhere hp is listed it says 145+. Maybe they flew off the dyno at factory. Sled is at roadtrackandtrail.com. Check it out. There prices are just random numbers I think. The other one is just ugly to me and I don't think I need a warrior around here(actually was 31 out today maybe we will have a winter).
I bought my wildcat there last season(non-running) had to be the worst looking sled in showroom(which is just huge and full). Price said $999, I got it for $300 with hardly a haggle. Not so much on the newer ones though. They got some sad looking srx's there for way too much. I'd have to get rid of one If I decide to buy it. They always seem to sell the sleds I'm interested in while I am on phone with them. All 3 f1000s sold while I was on phone. 1 was really nice, 1 so-so, and 1 was a turd.
Check it out and let me know.
Thanks

I have a question. I'm trying to get an 03 rx1 running for my father-in-law. I've cleaned the carbs several times and changed the fuel in the tank. When I rev it up to 7000 rpm it acts like its flooding out. It's at 7000rpm everytime. Any suggestions? Could it be just cause I'm down in vegas at a lower altitude than it's jetted for?

Never rode an srx much but I did like it. The rx pulls hard all the way through the rpm range. Impressed me when I rode an 03 which is why it was added to my list of sleds to buy when I was shopping in 07.
