Hey All, Merry X-Mas to Everybody.
I just recently did the stock exhaust mod on my 99 vmax 600 sx ,,(drilled out the baffle in the stock muffler with a 2" holesaw bit),, and was wondering if I should jet it up a step or two? I'd hate to run it lean and risk nuking a cylinder.
I have also read on here on the tuning page that 140 mains are recommended, but that was part of a list that also included thinning the head gasket.
What do you guys suggest? My friend had a 98 Vmax 700 that he did the mod to and he never stepped the jetting up and he said it was fine although I don't think that he really knows or understands to much about sleds come to find out.
Another thing is that the stock jetting is staggered meaning that the PTO side carb has a 136.8 jet and the other two carbs have a 133.6, when jetting it up, is it suggested that the jets remain staggered and stepped up accordingly or jet all 3 carbs the same? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

You don't need to do anything when the can is drilled out.
