First one is, at wot the temp light flashes 3 times and repeats as long as you hold it wide open, stays out when not wide open. 2nd, what is the hot clutch set up for these? is 8500rpm to high for these like the 700 was? what rpm should they be at?

There is a fault code de-coder in the tech section. I think stock specs for WOT are 8500 but seems like I read some where on here 8350 is a better number. This may change with mods of course.

My set up is in my signature. Works really well for trail riding and running the lake. May want to go with 70 degrees wrap if you want a better back shift. This set up pulls to 8300 and slowly climbs to 8500. I've done a lot of playing around and that seems to be around the best rpm.

Can't seem to make heads or tails out of that chart in the tech section, looks like either the sender or the thumb warmer? I used your set up in another one i had last year badda$$srx it worked pretty well, this is a new sled to me, and was wondering if 8500 is the right rpm.

so 8500? or 8300 rpm? searched through some archives and got conflicting answers. and what about the temp light flashing? only at WOT and repeats three flashes over and over until you back off the throttle? anybody have any insight to either question?

Stopped at the local Yamaha dealer and this info out of shop manual. Flash out code 3 is open or short in water temp sensor. At room temp ohm reading on sensor should be 2.450 k ohms & at 140 degrees reading should be 587 ohms. 8500 should be the correct rpm. I would like to try 8ca in my 98, but we don"t any snow here yet away.

the srx600 for 98-99 was 8500rpm, the srx700 for 98-99 was 8300rpm shift speeds.
