I have an 02 Viper ER along with an 03 Viper ER. I will be swapping the Engine from the 03 into the 02. I've searched the Tech section on TY.com and searched the forums for tips but I've come up dry. I'm not what one would call highly Mechanically inclined. I was hoping some of your could offer me some tips/directions of the removal and install to help my project run along smoothly. Any help is appreciated! I started doing a bit today and this is where I am. Hood, airbox, carbs, and exhaust has been removed. Is there anything I need to watch for or know especially when removing and installing?

I recommend getting a service manual - it will give you the different steps to remove the engine and making the proper adjustments when dropping the new one in (i.e. Oil cable adjustment). Make sure you bleed the oil pump after the swap!

Good Idea do you happen to know if there is an electronic version available?

its gonna be a direct swap, both sleds exactly the same so as you take apart 1 take pics and do the same thing to the other, theres only the 2 front engine mounts(4 bolts) and 2 rear mounts. I would suggest just removing the oilpump cable up at the throttle lever and leave it hooked up to pump simpler swap that way. All youll need to disconnect then is the pulse line and the oilpump feed line from the bottom of the pump, youll do this after the mounts and tilt the engine forward( use a golf tee to plug the line off)
