back in November I had the chance to pull my 01 srx out and get a few rides in and realized it just wasn't pulling like it should be. So yesterday when I finally had some down time I decided to dig into the power valves, pretty sure I found the problem. My pto side powervalve looked like the cable broke and was nowhere to be found. And the power valves look as they haven't been cleaned in years. So with that pto side not working and as nasty as the valves look I would assume that is the cause. Another question is how to get the other power valve cables off the valves? I can't seem to pull the valve out far enough to get to where the cable is inserted in the end of the valve. Any tips and info is appreciated.

You can unwind the cables at the servo. Turn clockwise. When you're finished with assembling valves Turn servo counter clockwise loosen cables at adjusters set servo to open set valves to 2.5mm. Check the tech. Section lots of info on setting power valves

If your valves are that bad you may need to take off the cable at the servo to get a good hold on the valve etc.
Sometimes on a real bad valve the barrel end of the cable may not want to come out very easy. You may need to pick it out if they are almost pulled through.
