Just bought a 1986 excel 3 for my kids and have a couple of questions. First of all the steering is stiff. It seems to be stiff right in the steering column before it even turns the skis. I cant lubed everything I could see from the front of the engine to the skis. Where can I lube it from the handle bars to the front of the engine, and I don't see any grease zerks.

the seat cover and the board are trashed, but the foam seems fine. I can make a new board, but what is my best(cheap) way to cover it.

the track should last through the year, but is worn under the wheels on the left side. Anybody know what size the track is, and where I could look for one this summer?

Over all I couldn't pass it up for 200 bucks. My boys are 6 and 8 and should have a ball on this thing for years.

Thanks for any helpexcel.jpgexcel2.jpg

Nice score! $200 is cheap! Especially if all you have to do is replace the seat cover and wood. Wood is cheap...you can get a seat cover for it from royal distributing for $150 or buy the vinyl material for around $30 for a sheet and do it yourself.

I don't believe there are any grease zeros on these sleds. Just spray in some jig-a-lube or fluid film if it's stiff. That's about all you can do. The tracks are 116" long and can be hard to find. They are over $600 new....if you find one, it will probly be around $100.

There is a guy on ebay in Winnipeg that makes seat covers for sleds for about $60. I am about to order a couple, 1 for EX440 and 1 for ET300. I have no experience with this guy, but can post my results once I get them. Seems like a good price.
I have bought the material before and done them myself with ok results, just looking for something better this time around.
