found one of the first 100 scoots off the line..

has the rare electric start option.

It was trashed when I found it in the spring.. I spent the past 7 months restoring it to give to my son for Christmas. Frame was broke in 3 spots, e start grinded bad, leaked fuel, track was pooched, drive axle was stripped, clutch worn, etc..

So new track then sourced a bunch of other stuff used and new from Yamaha. stripped it to the frame. rebuilt everything. fixed anything broken. replaced anything worn out.

added hydraulic brake set up off a Nytro - HUGE improvement, way way easier for little hands and so much easier to pull for a kid, plus way better stopping power. added heated grips. added remote kill switch. added Exciter II fairing. Added Exciter SX ultra low, all black rare wind shield. added c&a mini;s (awesome improvement in steering, way lighter and they look so much cooler). Fabbed up custom mounts for the nytro caliper and ski's. designed a wrap.

Finished it two days before Christmas.. smile on my son's face.. priceless!

first pic is from the day I tore it down.

second pic is after I blasted it.

3rd some of the suspension powder coated

4th, steering column, tie rods, and ski's mounted and the build assembly begins...

This was my first sled when I was 6 years old. It was the one with the black fairing, red frame, and had E-Start. It was in the family until I was about 15 and to this day was the best sled we had in the stable. It went everywhere my Dad's Enticer and Ovation would go. Seeing this rebuild brings an inner tear to my eye.

You have a very very lucky son!

now that is a restoration!!!! well done!!!! im sure the smile on your son's face made all the work well worth it!!!!

Thanks so much. It really did and we have had a blast on it. I made a little book so one day he can appreciate what it meant to me to be able to do that for him. I grew up without the luxury of parents having the means to do something like that for me and my brothers so now that I have the ability and time I did it, for both him and myself. I enjoyed every bit of it, and it was the first time i attempted something like that. 3 years ago I sold my Apex when he was born. It was a sad sad day but those are the sacrifices you make when you have children. One day I will treat myself and he and I will ride together I hope. My big hope is it gets him outdoors, to enjoy nature and some fresh air and some camaraderie with others in this great sport we all love.
