carb swap for a 1989 Yamaha ovation 340cc

I have a 1989 yamaha ovation 340 that I am currently working on. the dual barrel carb is a pain to work on. I am looking to swap it out to a single carb. Can anyone tell me what parts I would need to complete the job. I have a 197? yamaha enticer 300 I could borrow parts off of if need be but my guess is that carb would be too small for 340 to perform nicely. any help or advice would be appreciated.
 
It has been done on here before. If the intake off of the 300 fits, that is 1/2 of the war. I do not know which flat slide or round slide works as I am still using the butterfly mikuni on our 340.
 
i think the users name was lasse but do not quote me. ovation long track might have been the title of the thread and he was from finland.
 
Hey guys I know this is been talked about a lot but I can't find anyone with my problem. I did a 34mm mikuni swap on my 1994 ovation and it run great if the fuel is turned off but as so as I turn the fuel on it loads up and dies.
