2002 Venture 600 no spark...

I have a 2002 Venture 600 tripple that I can't seem to get to run. The sled has compression and fuel but doesn't have any spark...Well, not much spark.... When I turn it over with the electric start there is no spark until I shut the key switch off then there is one blue spark as it stops. Every time the starter stops spinning, there is one blue spark...Any ideas?
 

Why would it work when pulled over by hand but not when started with the electric start? The sled is my dads and he came and picked it up today. I almost think that it may have had spark when pulled over, but I can't remember. I definitely didn't work with the electric start. I'll call him and have him try that. Curious why it would work that way???
