Pulled my pistons last night and found some scoring in the center cylinder and little bit of scoring on piston (See pictures). Is it ok to let this go, or do I need to have it honed and sleeved?
Had lots of carbon build up on top of pistons and on power valves. Getting everything cleaned up today and going to get it put back together to check carburetors. This is my first time working on this sled, so not sure exactly how it will burn when starting with clean components. If you look at a couple of the side view pictures of the pistons you can see where it looks like the sidewalls of the piston are seeing some of the detonation. Is this normal? None of the piston rings were seized.

a few things. you can,t run that jug. i would find another here or send that out. the carbon you call it on top of your pistons is actually your jetting wash. and that looks perfect to me. now the bad news is this goes down the sides wich is called blow by. that means the rings were wore out and this motor need to be rebuilt. 3:16 (yammie tony)
