I'm posting for a buddy who's got a 250 enticer that won't start.
Here's what he's done so far:
replaced piston, rings & gaskets because it was bought seized.
it has a kiehen carb on it which was rebuilt and cleaned.
New fuel lines, new pulse line.
new plug...has good spark
compression is 129
we would dump a cap full of gas down the cylinder and it will fire but won't run..doesn't do anything when we hit the throttle to try and keep it running...won't even bog, just dies after 2-3 seconds.
i hear the Keihen carbs are finniky, any help on getting this thing running would be greatly appreciated!
or is there a mikuni carb alternative?
thanks!

Sounds like your not getting fuel. Check and see if the pick up line in the tank is rotted off. Maybe check the crank seals while your at it.

Ok, where is the pick up line? Does it draw from bottom or top of tank? I didn't really notice when I was there. There's fuel in the lines...I watched him put fresh fuel in...but maybe that's fuel in the line from when he bought it idk. How will we know if the seal is bad?

that sled does not have a pick up line. draws right from the filter where it screws in the bottom of the tank. did he remove the fuel shut off valve on the bottom of the oil tank? some times with those kehin all you can do is keep putting gas in the plugs untill it runs on its own. grandmothers gs340 is that way and it runs like a champ. had not run in 4 years before i started it this summer.
