That sxr should have the non hyvo chain
Hyvo.
This is a picture of a NON hyvo...it has Vs cut into the outside of links.

After looking at it again and comparing to a hyvo I have in the basement, I have to agree. I went off the part number on the package and a drawing from a Yamaha tech page that apparently isn't accurate.
roudy, is the part number on the package supposed to be for the chain in the pic?

Yep. That is how it was shipped to me. Well if it doesn't work, find an SRX that could use it.roudy, is the part number on the package supposed to be for the chain in the pic?

Now you still have the original problem. Finding one. I bought one from an A/C dealer. It was a standand 13 wide 70 pin chain. Dennis Kirk has them too.

Isnt the 89A designation for the mid 90's Vmax as some one else already stated?
Looks like there were 2 different types of chain used on mid 90's Vmax 500/600. One is the style in tnc110's pic ("Rexnord" chain, which is what roudyroy1 is looking for), and the other is "D.I.D.", which actually may very well be the chain in the bag in the first post. D.I.D. almost looks like HYVO, but notice the flat surface at the top of the side plate, HYVO chain is rounded in that area. There may be other differences as well, I've never had both side by side to compare.
Unless verified otherwise, I'd bet the chain in the bag is a match for the part number on the label, and I'd use that number to cross reference the OEM sled applications as needed.

Interesting. ..I see what you are taking about in with the outside of the links being rounded on the hyvo chain. This isa hyvo.
