Just picked up the sled and runs great. Handwarmers weren't working, I think they are hot grips, took the handlebar cover off and switch had a broken post. Replaced the switch and confirmed correct wiring. Went for a ride and wouldn't shift out past 6000 and was missing. Switched them off and ran fine then. I have power coming in that doesn't seem very regulated and varied from 5-19 volts depending on how much I rev the throttle. The handwarmers don't warm up when they are on either. Any thoughts?

Wow just searching the web and found a guy had a similar issue and was a bad ground from the stator. Will have to check that next. Is there a separate voltage regulator for the handwarmers. Still runs good so it seems like it wouldnt run right if it was the main voltage regulator.

Run a good ground wire/strap from the engine to the frame. This eliminates a lot of issues and can only help the hand wires.

OK heres where I'm at. I have continuity between both handwarmer cables I checked each one. I have voltage coming from the black and yellow wire at the bars. I have a solid ground through a black cable at the bars. I tried connecting one cable from each hotgrip to the ground, even held them against a nut one time just to be absolutely sure it was grounded, connected the other two hot grip cables to pos and it misses. Should I try wiring in serial? I don't want to ruin the stator or damage the sled!

Just tried series and ran even worse.

Ran a new ground from stator to frame and works perfect!
