Friend of mine bought his first sled 2001 sxr 700 5600 miles looks well maintained $1400. Pulled carbs and cleaned them got sled running good noticed lots of belt strands or fuzz, since I had my viper clutch alignment tool we tried to align the clutches. We struggled with this as every time we got ctc or offset the other would be off and tightening the mounts would also change alignment. Ended up putting a thick washer under front mag side mount. Got it as close as we could on both ctc and offset. Used belt that came with the sled went after 40 miles or so, put spare on and was squealing bad also track was spinning when we lifted it so we pulled the washers out from under the adjument bolts and solved that issue. Anybody have suggestions on dealing with hard to align clutches? Biggest problem seems to memory set into the mounts. Anybody shim just one mount before?
