I was looking at my primary and see it has the cracks around the shaft. After searching I found this is common. Not sure how long it has been like that. I didn't notice it last year when I worked on it but I wasn't looking either. It almost had to be cracked since I only have 20 miles on it this year. I am going up north next weekend so I need to get this resolved. I have a clutch that came off my 96 vmax xt. Is it the same if I put my parts in it from my 99 srx? Or should I just get a used one. Funds are a little tight right now but I can if I have too. Thanks
Yes, very common to have little cracks. Little ones are OK, but if you see them getting bigger, replace that clutch. My clutch has had small cracks since year 2. I've always kept an eye on them and they haven't gotten any worse.
EDIT: Post a pic of those cracks if you can, we'll give advice if it's worth keeping or scraping.

That clutch should work, use your weights, rollers, spring and cap from your old clutch.

I think I will leave it alone for now and look for another clutch later so I have a spare. Can't wait to get riding. I've been tinkering with this thing for months. As always good info. Thanks everyone
