Need help with ovation 340 carb tuning low end bog

I picked up a 89 ovation for 400 this summer put a different skid, track, drivers. I replaced the fuel pump and gas lines and cleaned the primary clutch and cleaned the dual barrel carb. First pull after putting gas down the plugs she runs.... But here's the kicker it had a low end bog. Once I get past the low end bog she flys. I have pulled the plugs and they are black as tar and wet with gas. I have been adjusting the a/f to 1.5 turns out on both and no change. I adjusted the oil pump cable to 24.5mm of free play and still the same result.... Any suggestions?

Is the choke plunger not seated all the way down?? The needle and seat could be leaking..... lots of stuff to check.

How do I check the needle and seat? I'll check the choke plunger out tomorrow. I'll pull the carb again and clean it again to make sure it's 100%

I have come to the conclusion that the exhaust side cylinder is not firing. I plan on replacing both spark plug boots and spark plugs and trying again. I have came to this conclusion because only one spark plug is wet (exhaust side) and when I crack it wide open she kicks bogs down now and dies. After replacing those I will re clean the carb to ensure no debris snuck in there

good thing to check.

have you taken apart the primary and made shure that all the internals move freely with no flat spots? also on that 2 barrel carb some times it gets crud in the air screw circuits and you need to pull them and blow them out. had to do that to my et410 this winter as it was using way too much gas.

Mikuni VM 32/34

Throw that funky "Teikei" carburettor in the trash can and put in an ordinary Mikuni VM-32/34 instead.

I own a Ovation/CS-340 with Mikuni VM-34 carburetor.
It works like a champ.
Maybe the jetting is not 100% but it has run good now for a couple of years without any problems and has nearly been beaten to death by the kids.
No hiccups and no bogs what so ever.
