I found this on the artic cat site and wanted to see what u guys thought of it

"I have a buddy with a '00 SRX 700, stock with at least 144 studs, my sleds an '01 ZR800 basically stock 186 studs. We both have similar clutch set-ups. What's my chances of smoking him in 1000 ft?"

My clutched viper without studs ran 4-5mph faster on radar in 1000-1200' a couple of times than a friends zr800, so i would say that the srx would smoke it. I have seen a couple zr800's and the ones i have seen are not real fast.

any properly setup zr800 i've ever seen is a strong runner. my step dad has an 00 srx and have friend with a zr800, they haven't raced yet though. his srx will run next to or ahead of my friends zr900. and the zr900 and 800 run pretty much neck and neck anytime they've raced

A buddy is meeting us up in Kalkaska area this weekend with his 03' ZR800. He's been wanting to race for a while now. He's basically stock other then 144 studs and MBRP Can and a new Camoplast 1 3/8 lug, while i'm running 02' triple piped Viper, clutched (Helix, springs and Hell Clickers as well as 192 studs and Boyesen Rad Valve Reeds. I should smoke him, but mine hasn't been hooking up that well. Studs are pretty beat up, straight but dull. I 'm going to fry the track this season and put a 136" with at least 1 1/4 lug on for next season, including head mod and trail porting...I should be hitting the 160 Hp mark by then and getting the power to the ground!!....Git r done!!!

Your srx might get the ZR on the lake but a o2 or newer ZR 800 thats been clutched with some D&D add ons will eat you in the first 2000 feet or so. my buddy has a 02 ZR 800 with a D&D sigle pipe clutch kit power breather and v-force reeds and geared 25/38 .this thing flies in the short i can't touch him. Also seen a new stock F-7 last week on glare ice no lube run 117 mph in 200 feet

Allvipedup, some things i did to my viper to make it hook up awesome is to crank the transfer rods all the way and ease into it off the line. Its working welll for me i can jump on infront of almost anyone off the line on good ice most people just get excited and punch it off the line and spin there track i beat tons of sleds that were faster than me for that reason.
