Hello all,
I bought a 79 250 Exciter for my daughter and have been doing some upgrades. One in particular is upgrading to a Mikuni VM34 carb and DF44 pump. Everything is installed and I cannot get it to stop spewing fuel out of the overflow. The carb and pump are brand new and I've verified that the carb has the small needle and seat to use with the pump. I started with the floats set at 23 mm and have adjusted all the way up to 28 mm with no change. My next thought was too much pulse on the pump so I adapted a 2" section of 1/8" tube inline and no change. My next thought was to install an inline regulator between the pump and carb but I can't get myself to do it, I shouldn't have to. Has anyone experienced this issue or have any other thoughts of what to do?
Appreciate any input you may have......

If you turn the carb upside down can you blow through the fuel supply line into it? Just a quick check to see if needle and seat are sealing.

Lesson learned yet again. Never assume that a brand new component is good. I put a new needle and seat in and that was the issue.
