Does any have an unbiased opinion if my 02 viper that has been clutched and different top gear in case, can hang with or possibly edge out a F7 .My buddy has one and he's the typical my cat is the fastest thing around owner.would love to beat him.my viper does pull very very good.

Hard to say either way with info given. Different gear? Higher or lower? Yours is clutched but what is it clutched for? Your race, is it curve to curve? 1,000ft or flat out WOT across a lake? Not real familiar with the f7's but am enough to know 05 should have came with Diamond drive which is a bit harder to fine tune clutching from what I hear. Either way you will look better riding a Yamaha even if the cat gets there first.

I kinda like some of the newer cats(look wise) I really like the new SR Vipers. I think the earlier diamond drives had some heat issues but in the right hands(not mine)are a force to be reckoned with. I would have to go with the F7 by not much.
I know a few ppl with the worlds fastest SRX's!

Previous owner of sled owns a Yamaha dealership up here in Maine and his mechanic set it up.I assume he knows what he's doing.its a lower gear I think he said, its a bender clutch kit,but don't know the specifics, exactly. He set it up for the quick run 0-100 very very quick, but takes more for that extra 8 mph or so.I know that some sleds I have lined up with are very surprised,I beat a zr800 with no problems and a dragon switchback 800 efi and that was too easy.I realize there not the fastest sleds but this one was set up pretty good.only thing is I can't can any one complete specifics but then machanic that set it up has since retired and moved away.

just bench racing, I would think the f7 would take you. roughly a 15-20hp advantage. basically they are nearly the power of an srx with the weight of an sx700. always like the idea of them, not sure I am brave enough to own one and keep it running

based on what i can gather from you about ur viper , i'd have to put a 20$ bill on you, IF you go straight line 800 feet or so. just squeeze the go button and don't let go lol....later kitty

if the viper has h/c clutching, and the suspension has bigger idler and rear wheels, I would race that f7!

the wheels add alot of speed and lower resistance to a sled, 5.350 idelrs in all 6 and 7.5 rear wheels! The viper needs to be set up just right, as you are defintily down on engine power vs engine power for sure.... but i like being the underdog it sweetens the victory x2!!

try em.... worst thing that happens is you lose and then go home and make it faster try it again.....
