Last year I put 2500 on my srx..never cleaned the valves..never cleaned it when bought it with 2200 on it "never checked" so guess what I found.???? I know need three valves... the cables pulled right out of the valves...question is can I run this thing with the valves in the dwn position all the time...until I replace the valve...last trip in canada I'm sure they didn't work and I clocked 1000 miles....how much of a port timing change is there????? can't hurt it with them down all the time will it...I know it will rob some hp but how much... the only other question I would have is heat on the valve...give me you thoughts just want to know..I know I will have to cave and buy them just trying to put it off.. :o|

Personally....knowingly operating with something wrong is an invitation for disaster. As for powervalves, I think more than a few folks here have had the valves fall into the cylinder which caused a mighty mess. I wouldn't do it. Have 'em welded real quick and put 'em back in. A machine shop could do it in a day and you'll be back up and running with peace of mind.

Hey 701 I Not recomended they build to much heat and your oil can't do it's job,get a light and look down your cylinders and see if your cylinder is scored.

yea get those babies off and take them to a machine or welders shop, they can fix those things up with some good welding and fabricating.

I did check my cylinders and they look ok...most of the riding I do in canada I'm not pushing it that hard....when your out in no where an accident is a bad idea...I going to fix it the right way...and have a machine shop dwn the road repair the other ones..as a back up...right now I'm running a 2000 and a 2001 so keeping a spare set is a good idea...thanks for the info...
