hey guys i just recently put a bombi suspension with a 136, inch and a quarter ripsaw on my 98 700 srx it hooks awesome even with no studs compared to my old pro action with the 1 inch track. so i decided I'm going to race it at the local sled drags for shits , the track is 600 ft snow track , my gearing is 22 40 right now and my clutching is a dalton 54 46 with a green spring wrapped at 70 , for the primary www spring with 8dn20s 4.5 grams both holes any recommendations on how to get it to work better for the 600 ft , gear down to 21 40 ? would freshening up my 3 year old springs help ? my rpm is 8500 which also needs to be dropped to 8300 any suggestions?

Depends on how much you rode it whether or not new springs will help. Not sure about gearing. I don't even know what stock is. I didn't know you could change them by 1 tooth. What year and model skid did you put in there? I am thinking of a skid upgrade and mine is 121. If you gear say 20 on top then maybe your on to something. Sounds like you have a very strong motor, It can't be stock, is it? I have same clutch setup except 51/43 helix and with WWW spring, I couldn't get past 8000rpm. YWY and at 8350 at around 115 on speedo. With that helix, I dont think mine would even get out of its own way. Let me know whats done to motor. I need to upgrade something to go faster. It pulls like crazy all the way to top end except for traction which is so-so(240 studs)
I have youtube videos of the 2 different springs on here somewhere, maybe a few posts down. Thread is called testing or something.

I have a 2000 mach z suspention with the 136 extention works awsome nice on trails too i was able to use the tunnel it came from to make my holes perfect

snow drags or ice drags? if snow drags gearing the sled down will actually make you spin the track alot easier(less traction) and youll go slower, for ice where there is very good traction its the opposite...

Ok mr viper that makes Sence for sure , it is snow groomed by a groomer but usually it gets soft and the only way to hook good is to find a spot at the starting line that hasent been chewed up is that gearing to much for snow ?
