Just talking to my dealer today and he said Yamaha is going to be unveiling something "big" on feb 25th . Apparently they don't even know what it's going to be. Has anyone heard anything or is this just some propaganda ahaha

I sure hope your right and wrong! Lol I hope your wrong because I want a viper! And by the 2nd or 3rd model year...they should have most of the bugs worked out. I hope your right because if it's something "big" it'll probly be all yamaha product...but then I'll have to wait a few more years...so really I hope your wrong!! Lol

But I wouldn't be suprised if they had something good to unveil!

New worksled or a variant, not something for the groom trail crowd(Think frozen tundra)Details past that are unknown.Even my local dealer got to speak with a Yamaha sled engineer from japan last august who was very tight lipped about it.Just don,t expect to see a performance sled from japan any time soon,if ever:o|

if thats true, i bet those cat motors wont stay together long, maybe that is the inspiration Yamaha needs to get back into the 2 stroke market

a 200 HP SRX and a price tag of $20,000..with the winters that are becoming like this season, doubt sales would climb. We just lost a Yamaha Dealer here last Fall...if they couldn't make a profit, then why stay in business. And they sold Boats, quads, dirt Bikes as well..getting tougher in the recreational sector.

don't know about reliable motors.I live in Cat territory and have seen my share of blown Cat motors and Cats being towed home...lol..

Cats dont make their own engines (until this year). I will say those suziki twins seemed to be better engines than the others. Except the 1000... Those poor 1000 owners :/

One reason is no money being made on service. If you make your products too reliable them you won,t see much service at the dealers that sold your units(seems like the new viper may buck this trend:whine:)A local skidoo dealer always has a line-up of sleds outside there door getting service(Sept-April,no matter what kind of winter)That's where the bucks are,not in sales but the service.
