Update: Got it. The pilot jet was totally plugged. Soaked it, heated it, cleaned it out, and put it back in. It's running very nicely.

Okay, I got the ET250 started for the family to ride, but it doesn't want to idle. It stalls. Runs fine when throttled up. So, I'm guessing that even though I put stabilizer in the fuel at the end of the season, and I had it running a month ago, the pilot jet (I think) is probably gummed up. The pilot is the low idle jet, right?? Can't remember for sure. Don't have a whole lot of experience with those things. I dumped the old gas and put fresh gas in and put a new in-line fuel filter on today before starting it. Took the carb (Mikuni) off this evening and planning on cleaning the jets tomorrow. Am I on the right track, or should I be looking for something else.

is your idle screw set too low? it won't hurt to just pull the carb off and give a good cleaning and blow out all the passages and jet orifices. pilot jet controls from idle to about 1/4 throttle so she's probly plugged up a bit. need to run tiny wire thru them to be certain no blockage. it doesn't take much. hope this helps
