Hey guys.
First off, what is that little thing on my exhaust I circle in red for? And is it important to keep? I'm making a can this weekend for my sled out of 4 inch stainless pipe. I'm gunna cut it jut passed this thing circle in red and that's where I'll tie into the stainless pipe for my can. Any tips and pointers will help!

that tube is for noise cancellation of exhaust pulse. exactly the opposite of what your gonna do....lol

In the can I'm making, do I need to put any kind of baffling in it to keep back pressure or is that done with the rest of the exhaust?
