got my mechanical seal out

Hello I have a quick ? How snug should the impeller sit on the shaft I can move it a little bit rotational wise also the washer under the bolt still looks ok no tears etc should I put a little grease on the shaft before installing the new seals thanks for any help!

Go to your local Harley Davidson dealer and buy a copper washer, part no. 6033. Take out the rubber washer that sits under the bolt head and install the copper washer in its place. tighten down the bolt tight. Your impeller will no longer wobble and your leak will go away.
