Guys,
Who can give me some advice on disassembly of the secondary clutch. My belt 89X-17641 rides a little low in the secondary. Can I make a tool to compress the spring to remove the snapring? Do I need to remove some shims? What are my options for secondary settings?

Snap ring pliers. Set the secondary on a work bench with the helix facing up. Rotate the movable sheave a bit and hold it and the fixed sheave with your left hand. Put your left thumb over the splined hole, push down on the helix with your left palm, have your snap ring pliers ready to remove the jesus clip. Once the clip is removed slowly ease up on your palm and release the spring pressure. All this needs to be done while your left hand is sort of clamping the two sheaves from moving and your thumb over the center. It takes a bit to master but gets easier after you do it a few times. Yep, you need to remove shims. Buy new buttons and helix bushing right away.
