Getting the 2nd Phazer running and am having a problem with it only running on one cylinder. This is what the guy said when I picked it up.
It has good spark and even a new coil, new plugs, It is running only on the PTO side, I even tried swapping the plug HT leads. When I pull off the plug wire on the PTO side it dies, and when I pull off the pull start side you can hear the spark jumping to the plug when close and when it is pulled away father it of course doesn't, but the motor still runs unchanged
The carb has been cleaned and all rubber plus in the correct position
Choke cables adjusted and have some free play
Compression at 130 with 3 pulls cold
Right now (just for testing) the air box is removed and the exhaust is off, but wouldn't think that would make a difference
I am kind of stumped, I have experience with Yamaha air cooled singles (YZ & IT's) but this isn't making much sense. The only thing I can think of now is maybe a crank seal
Any Ideas?

Can you see fuel in the lines to both carbs?
Thinking about the lots of fuel, I started it and with it running pinched off the line to the carb that was missing and after about 30 seconds the revs picked up an then ran on that cylinder also So I am thinking it is either just a float needle issue or a stuck choke. If I pull on the choke of the dead cylinder not change, good cylinder dies within a sec. Both chokes seam to be free and operate similar by feel at least. Does the only carb vent come out near the top of the carb? I am used to dealing with unpressurised fuel systems an on the YZ's if the float is stuck, usually fuel will puke out.

I took the choke cable off the non running side and but the choke plunger back in and used a small screwdriver to make sure it was seated....now it runs on both sides. Now I can put it all back together. Part of me loves troubleshooting through problems....the other part of me hates it!
