I had my srx out for first time this season it ran good. Idle, mid range, top end all seemed fine. Tryed to take it out today it took 20 or so pulls to fire it and ran like garbage. I cleaned the carbs in November. So it looks like i picked up some crap in the carbs. Has anyone used a fuel filter on this machine? I was thinking of k+n inline before the pump

Instead of using an inline filter just replace the filter in the tank.

I got the premium fuel from Pioneer. I drained fuel from the tank and carbs last spring. When i cleaned the carbs they were spotless
I had a similar problem on mine a long time ago. While on a long "guys" trip, my pilots plugged 2 - 3 times a day. Every time I'd clean them, while everyone else was in the bar, I'd find my pilots plugged with a white gunk that I could only assume the stock in tank filter dissintagrated. After that, I've run a large clear and inline filter. Took all if 2 min. to install and haven't had that problem since.

Yes just add an inline filter outside the tank, while you're at it replace the one in the tank the you shouldn't have anymore problems

Water turns the paper media to goo. Might end up with pluged jets again shortly if the intank filter is not R & R.Thanks everyone it was water in the fuel.
Do you have to pull the tank off to change the tank filter ?

No you don't, it comes out the gas fill hole. Use a coat hanger to fish it out. The hose is just long enough that you can change the filter.

it's a real PITA becasue the fuel line is not that long. FYI be careful not to screw up your fuel level indicator in the tank when your fishing for the filter.
