Hey guys I'm just starting to test with different helix and just want to understand exactly what the angle are suppost to do when using multy angle helixes
Example going from 50/36 to a 51/43. What is soppost to be the differences, larger finish angle means higher rpm or lower rpm or maybe easier for the engines to get to top rpm. And same with the start angle what is the difference between the larger 51 start angle then the 50 start angle.
Just trying to get a better understanding so I can find excactly what I'm looking for instead of guessing.
Thanks to whomever that can help.

really pretty simple. but if it really was i be a millionaire. first number is considered the initial angle, this is how fast your clutches are shifting according to the higher number, higher the number, faster they shift. second number is load sensing on your motor and has huge factor on peak rpm. example : that 50/ 36 would shift fast and let rpm climb, great helix for racing. now many factors go with this, weights, secondary spring, belt deflection etc. to really find the setup that works for ones riding style, a box full of helix,s and a 1/4 mile strip would work . be ready to do alot of testing. 3:16 (yammie tony)

Ok sounds good that defenetly helps me understand a little more. I just put this new set up that I havnt actually went out to try yet. I just put in some 8bu-10 and they have 4.5 grams in both holes with a www spring, I've got 23/38 gearing and I'm running a 50/36 dalton with it wrapped at 70 because that's what I ran with my old heel clicker set up. From what I understand on this site is that a 51/43 works really good with those wieghts. Just wondering if a 50/36 is going to work. I defenetly don't want to go backwards. I'm mainly looking to have a good trail aggressive set up that can still haul the mail on the lake.
My heel clicker set up worked really good, actually it was a weapon on the trails but looking to gain some on the lakes with these 8bu-10

Not hijacking your post

How about big helix angles are they better for drag racing such as 56/50 or 54/46 an such

h/c are great weights.i really like them. and work great for tuning. i more aless posted a 8bu-10 setup on here three years ago cause i had great luck with them. huge mph weight. that 51-43 is not going to work for you with loaded 8bu-10,s. stay around the 50ish initial and 40 ish or under with loaded 8bu-10,s. run the green spring with around 70 twist. 3:16 (yammie tony)
