Hello, I just re did the top end on my srx and now when I let off the throttle it sticks around 4000 for a couple seconds then returns to 1800. Anyone else experienced this?

It's lean on the low end. You can verify by bliping the choke when the idle is up.
If the carbs are clean, open up the fuel screws 1/4 turn and give it a try.

Yes but haven't really looked into it. I believe I read here that it means fuel screws out of adj. I really should look into mine as it seems to last longer every time I ride, even with cold motor. I got time now, our trails will be closed. Search idle hang on here.
Does this sound like an air leak to anyone? I want to make sure I don't wreck another piston. Thanks

Spray carb clean around the carbs boots crank seals if the motor starts to run different while spraying it you have an air leak in that area.
Ok Chris I'm going to grab some carb clean and try that out. Thanks for replying

Hey guys just wanted to give a quick update. So I sprayed everything down with carb clean and idle didn't change so don't think I have any air leaks. Then I was going to try the blipping the choke when the idle hangs but noticed I had a missing cylinder. Fouled another plug. Seems to Be eating up a lot of new plugs. Anyone have an issue with going through a lot of plugs? Currently using br10ecs with fresh 93 octane.

Try br9ecs. And when was the last time the plug caps have been changed. Mine fouled 2 on the same cylinder in 300 miles then when I grabbed the plug wire it zapped me so I changed plug caps. It was getting spark but not as much as it is now.

try backing off your idle speed adjuster about half a turn. the large screw on top of your carb rack. 3:16 (yammie tony)

Same here on the caps. Check them but sounds like you need to adjust your pilot screws. Try the choke method and report back.

Never fouled a plug on a yammi triple before. I had an idle hang so I turned my idle down to 1400-1500 and it's gone. Comes right back to idle now everytime. If this doesn't work...Check your pilot jets and pilot circuts are clean. Check fuel screws. Test plug caps and wires, and check for corrosion.

Also try a BR9EYA plug these are the good ones. Never used a br10 in mine?
Hey thanks for all the ideas guys. The plug caps are screwed to the end of the wires. Am I correct? Thanks again

Yes the caps just have a little screw dealy in them and it screws into to wire. You can cut the end of the plug wire half an inch or so.

Turning the idle down to 14-1500 rpm got rid of my idle hang.
So I tried blipping the choke when the rpm would hang and it comes down and the headlight dims almost like hitting the kill switch . Is that what it should do? I also replaced plug caps and so far so good. Thanks

Mine never had the hang until I replaced the tors switch. I did mess with idle so mine will go away with just a tiny turn on idle screw.
Thats weird, when ever anyone has a hang issue, its always 4000rpm.

Pull those 10's out of there and run the 9ecs, much less plug fouling. Our 98's came stock with the 10's, but a factory update called for the 9's now. I haven't fouled a plug since switching. Good luck

It has been 5+ years since I installed them. Haven't fouled yet.
