Was riding the other night and the high beam went out so i'm looking into new bulbs. I run HIDs on my car and was wondering if a single HID with the ballast would consume to much energy for a non-battery sled. I also was looking into some of the driver powered cree LED H4s that consume less energy. It seems like the quality LEDs are a whole lot more $ than the HIDs in my car that have been working well for little under a year. If anyone could give some input that would be awesome!

below are links to the different style lights:

HID's will not work on any yamaha 2 stroke without a battery from e start. That being said they will work if you wire in a battery and also keep it charged. I runn the ddms on my vipers and like them very but they all have e start with battery.

That 2003 should have the dual bulb headlight yes? Or is that still older single bulb? If that is still the old single bulb no matter if you do wire in a battery the ignition system is not powerful enough to keep the battery charged and will overheat stator and shut sled down.

It's the older style with a single bulb. I'm pretty sure it had a battery in it but the original owner yanked it and all the supporting stuff out. Checked out that other post, those are what I've been looking at for LEDs. Exactly what kit is that?
