Love my srx but I think something is going on with the rear suspension, it just seems like its sacked out/bottomed out all the time. Anyone ever have the shocks go? I know there's 2 and the front one I could see and it looks fine, one up in the rear I gotta get in and look at.

I'm at about 265 so I'm sure that doesn't help. I know the adjuster is in the middle setting, putting it on the stiffest setting help?

My dad has an 01 sxr and I know mines sitting lower, anyone has any idea lemme know, like to get it to sit up a little better. Going to try to crank the adjusters some regardless to get some ride height if nothing else and put the adjuster on the stiff setting, see if that helps.

Anyone ever install the brackets I saw on eBay somewhere that are supposed to raise the front an inch?

Any decent kits out there for these sleds to help with this stuff? ISO post up a link to it I'd like to check it out

sounds like you've never done much to the rear suspension. probably time for an overhaul. pioneer can rebuild your shocks and revalve for your weight and riding style. Bushings probably need replacing and do the betheviper treatment. w-arm could likely be cracked or broke as well

Betheviper has some good rightups on suspension. My guess is if you have never had it out, its probably shot.
At 2500 miles the bushings in my viper were junk already. In addition there is a good chance if your w arm is never been reinforced its probably cracked...most are. Read up you will know what I am talking about.I jave had 3 proaction skids all had broken w arms.

It's not that bad, first time you'll probably throw some stuff, but after that, you can rip it out, replace slides, and have it back in and adjusted in 30 min.

I need a write up and full pictures. What do I have to adjust? No know nothing about this crap or how it's adjusted, I just want to ride the damn thing I don't want to work on it, friggin sucks.

Where do I even start looking at this thing to see where the problem is? Nits just sitting like its dead, lift up on it and it all droops, set it down and it's right on the ground like it ain't got no shocks in it. Frustrates the shit out if me thing has 5800 miles on it, I've put 400 on it since I bought it and now it's all falling apart.

How do I even get the whole thing out if there, does the track have like a master link in it to come apart or do I have to somehow yank the thing all out wih the track on? How do you get that shaft out of the front if that's the case?

Anyone in CT wanna just come pick this up and fix it and ill hand ya a war of cash I don't have time for this shit....

Im gonna bring it back to my house, at least all my tools are here and I can dick with it at my leisure. At least this way I have the welder there. I find something cracked ill be putting guessets everywhere... Gonna get those other wheels, replace the hyfax while I'm at it mine as well do all of it. If anyone has all the part numbers for the bushings and the wheels that wet just a bit bigger I read about being a good idea lemme have them.

you can go to an online microfiche (I use Ronnie's Microfiche but you can go to Yamaha's website as well) and get all the part #'s you need.

welcome to snowmobiling. Regular and preventative maintenance is part of riding and owning a sled, no matter what brand. good luck lots of good info on here and a lot of guys willing to help you out.

PS by the way your sled is going to sit lower then the SXR because the SRX has the shorter shocks (approx 2 inches shorter), unless someone has added the SXR/Viper shocks before you got it.

Wow... must have taken me more than 10 minutes to write that on my phone!

Good to know it will sit lower, but this things totally bottomed out with noone even on it, something going on, once I have it home ill get it apart and see what's going on. I just hope it's the bushings and I have to plate/weld up the w arm. Ill put some angle iron along the outside of it and plate up across the inside webbing, gusset the shock mounts and anything else that's shot , gonna replace the hyfax while I have it apart, get those slightly larger wheels I saw mentioned somewhere, add grease fittings anywhere they're not, etc.

Just sucks it has to fall apart now while we have 3 feet of snow in CT

x2 on the write ups that BETHEVIPER has done. I'm always not happy with my own stuff, and always trying to make it perfect. His write ups were very helpful, and he personally answered a few of my questions. Im already planning on this summer to take everything out and replace everything.
