1997 700 sx....
if i wanted to run pre-mix what has to be done to the oiling system? does it have to be removed? blocked off? is it just as easy to replace the oiler? im trying to get the mixture adjusted but im thinking it is stuck open. currently using almost 5oz per gallon of fuel, which is about 20 to 1. ive read that it should be 30ish to 1.
this is my first sled and got it cheap. not interested in paying a shop hundreds of dollars to replace it. would be much easier to just fill the tank with pre mixe...
thanks for any and all advice

You can't eliminate the pump to run premix because the pump oils the bottom end bearings and water pump/oil pump drive. First check to make sure the pump cable is adjusted correctly. If it is and your using that much oil replace the pump. It's not super expensive and something you can do yourself.

when adjusting the oiler, can it be done with adjuster in the middle of the cable or does it have to be done down below at the oiler? its awful tight in there, whats the best way to get at it?
does the engine have to be pulled to change oiler? ? or just the carbs?
reccommed a good manual to do the job? looks like around $260 for the part its self.
thanks, jeff

You adjust the oil pump in the middle of the cable. You pull the rubber back and pull the cable out and measure the gap between the cable sheaves.

thanks, that's the missing information i needed..... hate to admit it but i have been going the opposite way.
im hopeful this will solve my problem and wont have to replace the pump.
