Hello guys! i have 1 2002 Yamaha SX viper 700 triple. ive only had it for 1 year and when i bought it i noticed that both the engine light and the caution light (!) was on. but the sled works perfectly! i have no idea what is causing those lights to come on. the handwarmers did not work and ive read that if your handwarmers are short circuiting it would cause the (!) light to come on. i replaced them and still no luck. ive asked the mechanics at my local yamaha dealer and they said the only time they saw those lights come on is when the temperature sensor wires were cracked but ive checked them and theres nothing wrong with them! i have looked at the codes pages in the owners manual and every code shows the caution light flashing for different lengths of time for different problems. but mine stays on at all times and there isnt any code for that. just wondering if anyone knew what could be the problem??
Second question!!
My father and i went on a little ride at the beginning of winter. before we left i topped up my sled with oil and i noticed the anti-freeze bottle was well below the mark on the bottle so i topped it up. we only went about 20 kms and i came home and parked my sled. i havent touched the sled since but i took it out today and was going to go for a little ride and i noticed the anti-freeze bottle was low again! wheres all the anti-freeze going? its not going on the floor of my garage so is it going down into the base? the sled works perfectly tho so i dont know whats going on! can someone please help?? any info is appreciated! and ill post a pic of the lights in my dash. thanks!

There are no coolant leaks or fluid anyplace what do your plugs look like? Its going someplace next time you top it up use a marker mark it check all your hoses for leaks etc what's the compression like.

Are you sure the sled is not overheating and pushing coolant out the overflow tube? Also the coolant cap could be bad and allowing the coolant to come out the tube even if not overheating. If not its in the engine with a leaky head gasket. Check your plug color like stated above and shine a light into the plug hole, what color is the top of the piston. If all shiney its being washed off by coolant.
If someone didn't bleed the coolant properly it could have dropped the tank level as the air worked its way out while you were riding. It may take a couple rides but that's what happened to mine and now the level is stable in the cold coolant tank. Mine dropped quite a bit before stabilizing. It never overheated either but I'd still travel with a quart of coolant if I were you. I'm sure there are directions for bleeding the system on this site.
