Hi guys, had to fix a damaged coolant line coupling on my 1998 srx 700, lost most of my coolant. The damaged p
Coupling. I hear there's a bleeder nut on the heat exchanger under the seat, I removed the seat but I don't see a coolant bleeder nut. What is the best proper way to bleed the coolant. Thanks

Kirk

the simplest way is to take 2 blocks of wood and place them under the skis, use like a chunk of 4x6 or something, then fill up the coolant and start the sled up and let it idle, it will push all the air out to the highest point( the fill bottle) as it runs, the thermostat has a small bypass hole in the housing to allow the air to escape, let it warm up good then top it off and ride it.

Isn't there a bleeder screw on the back or am I thinking of a different sled?

There is but you have to remove the seat. Mr. Viper's suggested way doesn't require having the seat off. As long as the pump is primed (has coolant), any air in the system will be pushed to the bottle.

Cap on or cap off? or does it not matter

Good thing I checked. I opened the seat and there was my flashlight, on. It must have turned on over a bump. Probably been on for a week, very dim led.
