Not a head to head but ran into somebody(the only other rider on lake)while on a soda run and he just started talking to me like we were old friends. He wanted to ride around with someone. I reluctantly agreed just for a little while because parts for other sled came in and wanted to work on it. After about 15 min or so, he wants to trade sleds for a little bit. I said ok so were riding around what a piece of junk sled his was. It was a 2008 MXZ. I never rode a sled that new, thats why I traded. I don't know what those have for motors but the thing was slow, like embarassingly slow. The thing had a horrible darting problem too. I noticed the windshield was cracked and the gauges didnt work. We traded back and after my excuse to go home, I asked about the problems I noticed. He said just before I met up with him, he rolled it over, in reverse! He said the ski caught something. Since then no gauges or tail/brake light. I asked him why it was so slow(in nicer words) and he says what? slow? this thing flies! The whole time hes telling me about how fast it is, I kept thinking, I let this guy who I don't know from a hole in the ground ride my sled who just rolled his? He did ride mine nice but you have to with the lake conditions. Never doing that again. Never rode a sled that darted so bad. Not even the wildcat when it was toed out 2 1/2". I wanted to peek underneath but that would invite more conversation but I bet springs were set way tight on front of skid because the skis were as tight as they go. Are those things 440s? Rotax something ss it said on hood. Those must be considered touring sleds. Just a little story while its after 5am and I can't sleep. It ran good so it must just have a small motor or something.

Maybe it darts because the ski got caught in reverse and it was rolled, knocking the front end kittywampus.

The 500SS is a 600. Its supposed to be a fairly nice sled, for a chic. Lol. Not all people are blessed with our brilliant decision making by owning Yamahas.

Last weekend I had a chance to ride a 2015 Ski Doo renegade X 600. I couldn't wait to get back on my SRX. lol. The sled looked nice but I don't understand why anyone would want to ride something like that. That sled is supposed to have 120 hp but I don't believe it, my other friends 94 vmax 600 seemed to have as much if not more get up and go. I hated how you sit up so high, how the heck do you lean on something like this?! You can't coast with it if you let off of the gas because of some kind of engine breaking they have, and it seemed to dart alot. They way it rode and sounded made me feel like I was riding a 4 wheeler. lol. I was really expectiing this thing to be an awesome ride with alot of power. About the only thing I actually like was how soft the suspension was.

I had a 08 xp 800 with a 136. Had it for 2 short on snow conditions. I now have a viper i am turning into a better jumping sled. The xp never felt stable. I do miss it when trails are crud or in deep snow

i had rev 800, iqr 440/600, pro x 700, rev 600 and pro x2 600. I sold all that crap and bought a viper, for one i dont worry about my engine failing, 2 they all didnt ride good unless you modified the skids or shocks and what not, 3 i hate spending money on really really expensive parts. I buy 8dn belts for 50 dollars, oil for 31 dollars and i have tons and tons of extra parts for the chassis and suspension. Other companies are simply outrageous for the cost of parts. oooo and i paid miniall amounts of money for my sled so when i scrape trees or bend stuff it really doesnt break my heart as well and of course i love have three options to get home as others only have 2.....triples are awesome period

Buddy of mine has a '04 skidoo rev 600 ho 136". Can't stand how you sit in those things it's like riding a motorcycle. I leave him in the dust on the straights and in the twistys. Only places he has me beat is in the bumps and in powder haha. Thing sounds like a lawnmower too.

Yes, he kept saying something about the motor being bigger then they say. Can't go through a corner without fear of tipping it and I was sitting way up in the air on a tiny seat. Very uncomfortable. Can't shift your weight at all or you'll fly off. Only good thing is it was really quiet. He did say it was his GF's. His brand new one was in the shop for its 300 mile check-up. That darting though, holy cow, just to do a straight line was a chore. Kinda reminded me of the guy who runs the tilt-a-whirl at the county fair type. Oh yeah, let off the gas and fly off the trail! I think my John Deere handles better then that.
