I put 150 miles on this weekend on my 99 srx. My sled has returned to the glory it once knew when new. It runs incrediable. New wiseco pistons, heads milled .025 and the thicker base gasket from MAXX. jetted up one size from stock for tempa-flow. Installed a 22 tooth upper, along with the Heelclicker primary setup and a HCX secondary. At it flys. Throughly impressed. It humbles my brother on his 2002 SRX 700 (1500 miles bone stock) even on the lake at speed. Anywhere but a 2 mile run I can smoke him to 110. Neither of us have studs so I'm at a definate advantage with a 136x1.5, but a disadvantage in the all-out top speed range. The midrange grunt is amazing. Last year he really would wax me pretty good anywhere. The engine is very responsive. The brother would brag about the responsiveness of his new sled but was pretty quiet when he came back after a ride on mine. He never thought my longtraveled behemoth would run like that. Its obviously not really one thing but multiple things like a good fresh engine, lift and mill, and good clutching with spot on jetting, along with good traction.
I did have an electrical glitch which was flickering the headlight /tach and instrument lights all together. which I'll put in a new post.
So thanks to everyone who I had posted messages to. I really appreciate the help.

How many miles did you have on that thing again? I have about 3900 and am wondering when to freshen up.

Rulesy.....a little over 11,000 miles. Pistons were way undersized beyond min. Cylinders had very little wear and were within spec. sled had 105psi compression cold closed throttle.

Glad to hear it! I think you've got the traction part down! Go get those F7s! (or F'ers as me/my friends call them!)
