99 SRX 700 and this year I have been having a hard time getting decent fuel mileage. Granted my clutching was off earlier this winter so I was running too many rpms, but now clutching is right on and I am still not getting good mileage. I'm running 148.8 148.8 150 mains with stock pilots. Plugs are good color to at least -10F so I know jetting is about where it needs to be. Tried a Tempa Flow a couple years back but I didn't like having to go easy on the throttle for a mile after a short rest break...by that time your friends are far far ahead. Anyhow, when I filled my tank the other day I checked my mileage and I was getting 7mpg...something here is not right. Any suggestions? Sled runs good, and oil consumption is right around 200 miles to a quart, but I've never heard of an SRX getting this bad of mileage, no matter how much a guy is into the throttle. Could it be choke plungers sticking, and how does a guy correct this problem if indeed this is the case?
