2001 srx 700. Stock rear suspension. St
W adjustable transfer rods. Just got back for a ride and it seems im bottoming out in the rear. So i happen to have a set of rear viper shocks and transfer rods. Can i swap them in? I think i need limiter straps? Someone told me i do and someone said i dont? Or should i replace the stock srx shocks. A lil more suspension travel in the back would be nice Also if i do go the viper shocks route... Any tips on install/setup?

Do you know the condition of the skid in general? Have you ever had it out and updated it? Even a well maintained skid will suffer from well used shock oil. The stock shocks are serviceable.

IMO - going long travel in the rear without doing anything up front may help ride comfort a bit, but doesn't take full advantage of the added travel. Lots to read here about different levels of updates to the front and rear (i.e flipping front brackets, going wide/viper shocks, other skids, etc...).

I'd suggest you need new straps but after being schooled on the differences between late model SRX skids - dunno.

I did my sx 700 years ago. It was well worth it. I also did the ski shocks too.
