What is the average life expectancy of a red heelclicker spring anyway? They're not readily available around here, only by mail order, and mine is no doubt due for replacement.

If you think its due, just order one. I rode a few seasons before mine broke (loading it up at home) Luckily I had the silver spring and was able to use that to get me through the trip.

Well lately I've been contemplating pulling the clickers and using an 8dn 20 setup,if for no other reason than for the ease of getting replacement parts like springs.

Just bought 2 springs late this fall after approx. 4-5000 km on both. Mind you I dis-assemble the clutches every season for summer storage. Only $70 or so shipped right to my door...
