Was wanting to install a Ridgid Led Driving Light on my 99MM. Its 12vDC, 1.45 amp draw, how can I make this work. I originally thought I could just use the original headlight wiring, now im not sure if that will work or not? I have a BR Tech hood so the original headlight is gone, wiring is still there. So can I use the original headlight wiring or is there another power source that is suitable?
Thanks
Thanks

The new LED headlights rockmiester does on the 4 stroke side are plug and play for the 2 strokes. Comes with ballast and cooling fan. Have a set in my daughters viper and they are awesome. Saw him at snow show and the work in the single headlight sleds as well. They are every bit as bright as my HID vipers.http://www.totallyamaha.net/forums/threads/97528-Led-headlight

I've even seen them on flee bay now with fans and ballast. Just make sure its for a h4 bulb
I know people are running these in motorcycles with good luck. Not sure how they would work in a sled

this link has some pics of them in a bike. 20 watt

U will need a dc converter inline to run led bulbs.

where do you get one? I looked for hours on the internet to find a 12v ac-dc converter that can handle enough watts

To run the LED kits that are on flee bay, rocks, and britelights are all plug and play. No conversion needed, comes prewired with its own ballest ect. I have yet to see just a bulb big enough to light up the trail that won't melt the housing.

Ahhh I see. Makes sense now.
Does the ac dc thing really matter its only 12 volts. In the cree lights you are powering up the ballast only that powers up the led. Also if you use a rectifier wouldn't you get pulsating DC voltage. I am going to email cree and see what they I will let you guys know.

A bridge rectifier (4 diodes) and a capacitor (filters) would give you smooth DC Voltage http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diode_bridge

Wouldn't the intelligent chip control take care of the ac/dc thing?
here is a 12vac to 12vdc converter its good for 3 amps. So a 30 watt led would be 2.5 amps
