Just went threw 11 pages and cant find an answer after looking at 3 different online parts fisches. Bought a 99 Vmax 500 today with a gnarly gouge in front exchanger, mainly for skid and track for another sled. After owning for a couple hours I am not so sure I want to scrap out the rest of it as everything else I own is a triple. I have a couple srx carcasses with good front exchanger, Are they the same? Different but interchange? Any body know for sure either way?

The front exchanger seems to be a problem on other Yamaha models too.
I have a 93 Exciter SX 570, front exchanger is bent back, still works but is closer to the track lugs.
I had thought of maybe deleting it?
Put on a more efficient rear cooler?

I can only assume something got caught on the outer RH edge of track and beat the piss out of the cooler. Nasty gouge but track looks absolutely 100% fine, track is studded but damage is right at edge of or just outside the path of the track. Previous owner smeared a pile of JB weld in there trying to fix it and it still leaks.

there are three within the pro action , srx, pipe comes up from the middle, vmax, triple or twin, pipe comes straight out, and viper, pipe comes straight out and has a t that comes straight up.

also, srx and viper use larger outlet
