Silly question... What happens if the check valve is installed the wrong way. I'm talking about the check valve that in the middle of the line from the oil pump to the fuel pump... My 700sx is leaking gas, but I can't find out where it's leaking. I can see it turning the snow yellow around the sled, and there is gas dripping from the trailing edge of the belly pan. But when I check the gas lines I can't find any that are obviously wet. I replaced the fuel lines to the carbs because one was rubbed thru, and also replaced the o-rings on the needle seats of all three carbs, and even replaced one of the needle & seat assemblies that looked worn, but it's till leaking. nothing around the pump or tank is wet.
The first time it happened, I had the back of sled way up in the air in the garage, I had only a gal in the tank, but all leaked out over night. I thought maybe a float stuck since I had it at a crazy angle. I put another gallon in and started it and moved it outside, two weeks later the gas is all gone again, that when I pulled the carb and replace the parts I mentioned above. I put gallon in and ran it, looked for leaks, didn't see any, so of course I poured the rest of the 5 gal jug into the tank, and now it's still leaking. I thought for sure the fuel line was the issue since I pulled it off and it had a wear spot that had worn right though, I was able to plug the end of the line and blow air thru thru rub. This is crazy!! I want to ride this sled this weekend for the MN TY ride.

If it's leaking with only 1 gallon in it, I would pull the tank and look at the bottom of it.

But the drips are in an area where it would be pretty hard to come from the tank. I will take the tank off tomorrow & double check.

do you run studs in the track..if so..the studs have cut thru the tunnel and into your tank. I have come close to that happening.

No, no studs. I had the tank off until 3 weeks ago. I didn't see any cracks or holes in it when I put back together. But I will check it again.
Where is the fuel smell the most strong?
Get the shop completely quiet and apply a few lbs of air pressure to the gas tank vent line, then listen for a bit. Also check the underhood and tank area for liquid movement, even if a small area and slow, may help to have airbox off. Check your undersled areas where the gas was coming out on the ground and see if a drip starts, or increases in pace.

The oil pump will blow the line off the fitting then leak gas if not fixed then blow motor. Please don't ask how I know. Pull airbox pull carbs look down at the oil pump if one of the lines is off check the valve before you proceed.
