I noticed today while out riding the 340 I can't really get it up to top speed. I popped the hood and noticed the top layer of the belt was peeled right off. Then I noticed how loose the belt was. I don't ever remember it being that loose and so easy to replace. The belt is actually hitting the belly pan below the clutches.

is there something I should be looking for? I'm thinking the secondary might be shot but I don't know...

where does the belt sit on the secondary? it should be near the top. has the motor moved? worth checking your motor to secondary measurement. maybe wrong belt? just a thought

I had a close look last night to see if the motor had moved, it doesn't look like it but I guess taking a measurement will help. I always buy genuine Yamaha belts for it, even the spare is loose.

It's almost at the top of the secondary, secondary is closed all the way.

I looked at the 78 parts .... normally when the top comes off , the belt has been upside down at that point and flips back over as
the sled slows down ... was any of the belt wrapped around inside of clutch ??? as it will keep it from closing up and make new belt
look wrong . engine is rubber mounted , check for broken ones . Bolts broken off where chain case meets body and pivoted back
around axle ...track could be out of alignment if that happened..
