hey guys! i have a quick question. how have you guys gotten the most out of your SX viper 700? i already know these machines are crazy fast. and one of the fastest machines on the snow so ive heard, along with the SRX. but my buddy has a 2005 MXZ adrenaline 800 and we had a little drag today. he beat me the first time because i wasnt really ready, but the second time we were pretty much side by side. the pond we dragged on was about 1/4 mile or so. i could tell at the end of the pond my sled was still picking up speed but i had to slack off on the gas because i would have ended up out in the woods. the only modification thats done to my sled is a Sno-stuff can. as far as i know because im not the original owner. his has boysen reeds and a can. not sure about his clutching. just wondering what modifications i could do to my sled to make it just that much faster? i just hate being beat by a bombardier! haha! thanks in advance!

the viper when stock are not crazy fast but a great trail sled when set up. That being said a well tuned Viper can hang with some big boys. Clutching and rolling resistance is the best place to start.

heel clicker 40-10 clutch kit and order a Dalton 48/34 or 48/36 helix. when you get the kit report back and will help you set it up.
Bar none this is the single biggest improvement other then triple pipes.

I've read so much positive feed back about the above set-up that I'm going to place an order for parts. Does anyone have any measured data (sled lengths, etc.) comparing a bone stock viper to a viper with this set-up (both tuned properly on hard packed snow). I'm curious as to where the benefits of this set-up are most noticeable - from a dead stop, mid-range, etc? Thanks for any feed-back!

I noticed a lot of change at bottom end. I have to work on hook up with this set up cause it pulls a lot harder then stock and the track spins. I have not done any WOT pulls yet. The set up really fits my riding style and love the corner to corner pull on the trails.
I still have some work to get it the way I want it but this clutch set up works great. I used Mr. Vipers set up and he was bang on about loading the weights. Now bigger wheels, reed mods, light weight skis and probably a different track before I am done with mine
