Hi all, I just bought a 2002 sx viper and it wouldnt idle, took carbs off and found 2 of the 3 pilot jets were clogged.Cleaned them and put them back in,Figured while I was there I would remove the main jets and clean them as well. While taking the center cyl main jet out it broke(got the the other piece out of the carb).Just to give my self piece of mind I'm going to replace all the jets and I just need to know the factory size of the main and pilots. Thanks

Main 156.3. Pilot 45. While in there move needle clip t 4th position both shims on top. This will help protect you from that midrange burn Down. Will post link below n this info, and welcome to the site! http://www.totallyamaha.net/forums/threads/87822-2012-carb-cleaning-and-viper-needle-settings

are the mains unshrouded on that year viper? Not sure of that. On the 98 srx700 they are, and I found the best way to get them out is to grind the sides of a large screw driver that wouldn't fit but the blade fills the slot on the jet.

Yes mine are still shrouded.I got all the jets out and Im waiting for the new ones to come since nobody in my area had them except a dealer 2 1/4 hours away. I ordered all new fuel line right away too.

If you ever run into difficult extraction in the future try the grinding sides of a big screwdriver bites the jet way better.
