Tension spring for reverse lever....

I need the tension spring for the reverse lever on a 1997 vmax 600 xtc. Dealer tells me they are on backorder and wont be able to get one for 3 weeks. Unreal a lousy spring... Anyway if someone has one that I can buy?? Or maybe measure one so I can get a spring the correct length would be cool too. Thanks
 
Ill be up to my sleds in a couple hours. Ill measure on. Sould be able to find a suitable replacement at a good hardware store. Did you check your adjustment?
 
I lost the little spring in the recoil that is needed for the pawls. Yam dealers around didn't have them. On my way home, I pulled into ACE remembering the entire isle of those pull out drawers. Sure enough....... .78 cents later I was in business. Menards has a huge spring assortment in the pull out drawers.
 
I did not mess with the adjustment yet. I am missing the spring, so thought I would start there. Just want to make sure on length so I can go buy one from the hardware store instead of a whole assortment. Thanks for taking the time to measure. Appreciated!
