Hey guys, is it normal for a clutch kit to make the belt chirp/squeal a little at idle? I just replaced the belt with a new one and at idle it makes the annoying chirp sound. Previous owner said it started with the clutch kit after it was installed and i just had the company that installed the clutch kit then give mine a once over and they said it was fine (after replacing the roller bearings). Ans ideas on how to reduce the noise? Thanks

check the hight of the belt on the secondary. If the belt sits to high it will chirp. The solution if this is the problem is to remove a washer from each small bolt behind the secondary. There are 3 bolts that have different thickness washers.

chirp

i had the same problem on my srx7 i bought a new belt, it was a yamaha belt, the one called for and when i put it on it acted like it was a little short. i reinstalled the old one and it stopped chirpping. hope i helped.

you need to adjust the deflection for the new belt, the belt is not too short!
